The thermal constraints in space have a very important impact on a spacecraft or satellite design.  The cold deep space, the solar and planet fluxes, the equipments dissipations, the thermal controllers as well as the structure of the spacecraft itself have to be taken into account in order to have the most realistic knowledge of the complete thermal behavior. Thermal simulations are critical in the space industry.

THERMICA provides all the simulations needed to predict the temperature fields and so to design correctly the spacecraft and its thermal controllers.

The THERMICA Suite is composed of two main packages:

• The first one is dedicated to translate the geometrical model and its environment into a mathematical model by computing all thermal fluxes and couplings. This part is known as THERMICA.
• The second package consists of computing the temperature field. This can be done by the powerful solvers THERMISOL (the THERMICA solver) or SINDA/G provided by the company MSC Software.
