QUARTZ is an operational flight dynamics solution. It is developed by ASTRIUM for its own control centre and for ground station’s satellite operators. For more than 10 years ASTRIUM has been accumulating an extensive experience in developing and operating Flight Dynamics software for transfer and station keeping operations. The ASTRIUM Flight Dynamics Team has had the full responsibility of the Flight Dynamics computations and decisions during the LEOPs performed under ASTRIUM responsibility (In Orbit Deliveries).  

QUARTZ supports all kind of Earth orbiting systems, from launcher injection to the end of mission :

• Transfer to GEO from GTO, SSTO and SBO, inclined orbit or not. QUARTZ supports the entire LEOP phase, final earth acquisition and drift manoeuvres to stop satellite at the targeted longitude.
• GEO Station Keeping : chemical and plasma propulsion system, including inclined orbit and collocation.
• LEO missions : transfer and station keeping for sun synchronous orbits
• Formation flying : for micro-satellites in GTO orbit.

Due to its software architecture (clear separation between the flight dynamics science and computer science), QUARTZ is easily customisable and specific capabilities can easily be added by the development team according to your specific mission needs.
