The SYSTEMA software products line gathers a large set of engineering tools developed by Astrium and covering most of the technical domains involved in the spacecraft design from mission analysis to detailed design and exploitation.

This set of tools combines state of the art computer technologies, strong expertise in the different technical fields and deep understanding of the spacecraft engineering issues and processes.

  
The various developments rely on a standardized approach ensuring a full consistency of the different modelling tools within a same technical context: the satellite and its mission. All the software are organized around a common framework called SYSTEMA aimed at working within the concept of concurrent engineering.

Then, within the SYSTEMA framework, various applications covering the different aspects of the spacecraft design are integrated: the satellite mission, the overall design of the satellite, its interaction with the Space environment (ENVIPACK), the analysis of critical aspects like thermal behaviour (THERMICA) or impact of radiation (DOSRAD).
